Maddy made a strong return to competition with a third-place podium finish at the 2024 World Cup season opener in China—a career-best performance. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that her last World Cup start was in 2015. After nearly a decade of competing by the age of 21, Maddy chose to step back, instead pursuing her passion for snowboard coaching. She worked with amateur athletes and later with the pros on the U.S. Snowboard Halfpipe Team. Now, she’s back in the spotlight as the newest member of the pro team, ready to pick up right where she left off, but even stronger.
