Park City Mountain Named as New Season Two Host Site

Park City Mountain Named as New Season Two Host Site as The Snow League Builds on Landmark First Season

World-class Halfpipe Snowboarding and Freeskiing Take Center Stage in Utah on January 22–24, 2027, as The Snow League Continues Global Expansion

Park City

PARK CITY, UT (March 31, 2026) — The Snow League and Park City Mountain announced today that the legendary resort will serve as the league’s newest host site for Season Two. The premier competition in Utah is set for January 22–24, 2027, further accelerating the league’s momentum following the conclusion of its historic inaugural season.

The announcement was made at Park City Mountain by Snow League founder Shaun White, at the top of a custom-built transition feature built at the Scott’s Bowl specifically for the event. The three-day Season Two competition in Park City will bring together the world’s top athletes in halfpipe snowboarding and freeskiing, complemented by live music, immersive fan experiences, and a full weekend celebration of winter sports culture.

Park City Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States and Utah 2034 Winter Olympic venue, will debut an upgraded 22-foot halfpipe for the competition, setting a new standard for progression over the traditional 18-foot build. It’s the first time a halfpipe of that size will exist at Park City Mountain since the 2019 FIS World Championships.

This venue investment reflects The Snow League’s commitment to expanding athlete opportunities, from youth development to elite professional competition, ensuring the sport’s long-term growth globally by expanding the accessibility of premier infrastructure. The league’s addition of a world-class venue in Utah follows the high-stakes Season One finale in LAAX, Switzerland, where the league crowned its first-ever World Champions: snowboarders Sena Tomita and Yuto Totsuka, and freeskiers Eileen Gu and Luke Harrold.

Founded by White in 2024, The Snow League is the first professional sports league dedicated entirely to snowboarding and freeskiing, combining elite competition with a festival-style atmosphere to create a premium, multi-day experience for fans both on the mountain and throughout host communities.

The January event arrives at a pivotal moment for Park City. The weekend of January 22–24, long associated with the Sundance Film Festival, will mark the first year the festival will no longer take place in Park City following its move to Boulder, CO. The Snow League’s arrival signals a new chapter, introducing a global sports and entertainment property at a time of continued evolution for the community. Through forward-looking investments across the resort, Park City Mountain is helping shape the future by expanding experiences that bring the world to Park City.

Park City sits at the center of one of the largest winter sports audiences in North America. It is within a short drive of more than 2.5 million people and offers unmatched accessibility for visitors from around the world via Salt Lake City International Airport, one of the most convenient gateways to a major mountain destination globally.

“Park City has always been one of the most important places in snowboarding and freeskiing, so bringing The Snow League here for Season Two feels incredibly special,” said White. “With the Winter Olympics returning to Utah in 2034 and Park City set to play a major role in the Games, there’s an incredible energy building in this community around winter sports. We’re excited to make The Snow League part of that momentum, bringing the best halfpipe athletes in the world here and building something that grows with the sports in the years leading up to the Olympics and many more to come.”

“This was a deliberate strategic decision for us,” said Ian Warda, Chief Operating Officer of The Snow League. “Park City gives us the opportunity to showcase the highest level of performance in our sports to one of the largest concentrations of current and future fans anywhere in the world, in a location that’s uniquely accessible. With the momentum building toward the 2034 Winter Olympics, the timing couldn’t be better.”

“Establishing a presence here now allows us to shape the future of winter sports in one of the most important markets in the world,” added Omer Atesmen, CEO of The Snow League. “We’re proud to build a true destination event that connects competition, culture, and community while inspiring the next generation of skiers and snowboarders.”“As Park City continues to evolve, investments in events like The Snow League help define what’s next for our destination,” said Deirdra Walsh, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Park City Mountain. “Bringing world-class athletes and an innovative competition format to Park City Mountain reinforces our place on the global stage and celebrates the spirit that makes this community so special.”

“We’re excited to welcome The Snow League to Park City,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. “Their investment in developing a world-class halfpipe venue at the home of our national team is a major step forward in the development of our athletes and for the future of snowboarding and freeskiing in the United States. The addition of a platform like The Snow League creates meaningful new opportunities for our athletes through expanded access to training and competition at the highest level.”

The Snow League will return for Season Two with a growing roster of premier host destinations across the world, with the full schedule to be announced soon. Additional details about performances, athletes, on-mountain experiences, and town-wide programming will be announced in the coming months. About The Snow League

Launched in June 2024, The Snow League is the first professional winter sports league dedicated to snowboarding and freeskiing. Founded by three-time Olympic gold medalist and entrepreneur Shaun White, Season One featured a four-event global format with a $2.2 million season purse, as athletes competed to earn points toward the inaugural overall titles. The season kicked off at Buttermilk in Aspen Snowmass (March 7–8, 2025), then continued to Yunding Snow Park, China (Dec. 4–6, 2025), where 16 of the world’s top freeskiers joined the roster at the 2022 Beijing Winter Games venue. The League returned to Aspen (Feb. 27–28, 2026) before concluding at LAAX, Switzerland (March 19–21, 2026), where the first-ever Snow League World Champions were crowned: snowboarders Sena Tomita and Yuto Totsuka, and freeskiers Eileen Gu and Luke Harrold.
