The celebration continues on Competition Day with the Awards Ceremony & Après Set, featuring an electrifying live performance from Sweet Mix Kids.
The Snow League World Challenge is set to bring the world’s top snowboarders and freeskiers to Cardrona Alpine Resort, New Zealand, on September 18 – 19 for an action-packed weekend of world-class competition, fan experiences and mountain entertainment. The inaugural Snow League World Challenge introduces a first-of-its-kind international team format, with athletes representing Team North America, Team Europe, Team Asia-Pacific and Team Challengers in an exciting head-to-head battle.
As the competition heats up on Saturday, September 19, the celebration continues with the Awards Ceremony & Après Set, featuring an electrifying live performance from Sweet Mix Kids. Following an exciting day on the halfpipe, fans can gather in the Base Area Plaza to celebrate alongside the athletes as one of New Zealand’s premier live electronic music acts delivers the soundtrack to an unforgettable afternoon on the mountain.
Known as the “Princes of the Party,” Sweet Mix Kids have built an international reputation for their high-energy performances, playing some of the world’s biggest festivals, clubs and events, including Coachella, Rhythm & Vines and the Melbourne Cup Carnival. The Aotearoa and Australia-based DJ/production ensemble has also toured or performed alongside global artists including Adele, Ed Sheeran, Flume, Coldplay, Marshmello, Martin Garrix and Deadmau5.
Led by frontman Sandon James, Sweet Mix Kids combine live electronic drums, samplers, musicians, guest vocalists and dancers into a genre-spanning performance that transforms every show into a full-scale party. Finalists for Best Electronic Artist at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, the group also celebrated the success of their album Stargazing, which reached No. 2 on the New Zealand Albums Chart.
With the world’s best halfpipe athletes competing during the day and Sweet Mix Kids bringing their signature festival energy to the official Awards Ceremony & Après Set, the Snow League World Challenge promises an unforgettable celebration of world-class sport, music and mountain culture in the heart of New Zealand’s winter.
