Gaon Choi

At just 14 years old, Gaon Choi made history at the 2023 X Games, as the youngest athlete to win halfpipe gold. Her win was no surprise—she went undefeated in her 2022 rookie season, sweeping all six junior halfpipe events. Gaon’s dominance continued in 2023 at her first World Cup at Copper Mountain, where she qualified first and went on to top the podium. Mentored by two-time Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim, whom she met through the Mammoth Mountain Snowboard Team, Gaon is quickly establishing herself as one of the sport’s brightest rising stars.
