To say Nick Goepper’s unprecedented switch from slopestyle to halfpipe is going well is a vast understatement. The three-time Olympic medalist in slopestyle—most recently adding a second silver at Beijing 2022 to go along with his bronze—has already planted himself at the top of the halfpipe. Just two years into his new discipline, Goepper has claimed X Games gold, five World Cup podiums, and a World Championship silver, proving he’s as much a force in the halfpipe as he was in slopestyle.

Goepper channels all his slopestyle skills and years of progression into the halfpipe—but he’s also keeping things fresh and lighthearted. He’s been known to ski in jeans and thrifted gear, a nod to his Midwest roots, or training at his “Rollerblade Ranch” in the Utah desert, complete with a 13-foot quarterpipe and a 50-foot airbag.
